I am an Economic Analyst in the Analysis and Statistics unit of the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs, and Inclusion (DG EMPL) at the European Commission. Before, I obtained a PhD in Economics from KU Leuven, funded by a Fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). I also spent some time visiting the Institute for Applied Microeconomics (IAME) at the University of Bonn. For further information, have a look at my CV.
At the Commission, I build models of the labour market to inform contemporary employment policy. In my academic work, I study how workers and firms value different non-monetary job attributes, and how market conditions shape whose interests are reflected in equilibrium outcomes. To answer these questions, I use structural models of search and matching, causal inference methods, and experimental survey evidence.
